                        Classic Alfredo Sauce

                                                 Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional for extra flavor)

                                                 Instructions:

  1. Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

  2. Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes to slightly thicken.

  3. Add Parmesan: Lower the heat to medium-low and slowly whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.

  4. Season: Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

  5. Serve: Remove the sauce from the heat. Serve immediately over freshly cooked pasta like fettuccine, or use it as a sauce for chicken or vegetables.

  6. Garnish: Garnish with fresh parsley or additional Parmesan if desired.

                                     Serving Suggestions:

  • Pair this sauce with fettuccine to make the classic Fettuccine Alfredo.
  • Add cooked chickenshrimp, or broccoli for a heartier dish.
  • Serve over grilled chicken or as a dipping sauce for breadsticks.
